Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Hector — The Gentle Guardian with a Heart of Gold Hector is a lovable Great Pyrenees mix who has mastered the art of being both a loyal guardian and an affectionate companion. This big-hearted boy has spent most of his life outdoors watching over chickens, goats, and kittens — and he takes his job seriously! He’s trustworthy with livestock, gentle with kids, and a total sweetheart with female dogs. Despite his impressive bark, Hector’s not the tough guy he pretends to be — when he’s startled, he runs straight to his people for comfort and pets. He’s happiest when he’s near his humans, nudging for attention or politely offering a paw for you to hold. This sweet guy never gets enough love! Hector does have an old ACL injury, but it doesn’t slow him down. He moves around well and only needs his anti-inflammatory medication occasionally. He’s invisible-fence trained, slightly active, and enjoys a calm routine. He’s looking for a home where he can keep doing what he loves best — protecting his flock and being near his people. Hector isn’t house-trained yet, but with patience and consistency, he’ll catch on quickly. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate guardian who will make you smile every day, Hector is your guy.
