Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). Meet Paisley...10 Pounds of Pure Joy! This adorable little nugget was found as a stray, and with shelters in her community completely full, her finders reached out to Worthy Dog for help. We were more than happy to say yes. Paisley is now being fostered by Renee, a retiree with two dogs, and she’s quickly settled into her new pack. Renee describes her as “a total sweetheart” and shared this wonderful update: FOSTER MOM UPDATE (10/8/25): “Paisley is awesome! She’s young, sassy, and gets along great with both of my dogs. She’s respectful of my senior and has daily zoomies in the yard with Ryder. He hides in the bushes, she finds him, and off they go running. They’re so cute together! They also love cuddling on the couch. She’s still new and can get a little jealous if I pet Ryder and not her, but she’ll just crawl into my lap for her own attention. She’s housetrained, crate-trained, and her leash skills are good. We’ve started daily walks, and the only challenge so far has been the neighbor’s chickens. She didn’t like them and barked! Like most Terriers, she’s a bit of an alert barker. She’ll bark when someone comes to the door or if she hears a strange noise, but she settles quickly. She’s not over the top, just probably not ideal for an apartment setting. = Paisley loves sitting on my lap but is also content beside me. She’s affectionate, confident, and cuddly. She’s met my grandsons (ages 6, 8, and 11 years old) and did great with them. She even learned her place in the food-bowl lineup and patiently waits her turn, then licks the others clean when they’re done!” *********** Paisley will make an excellent family dog and would love to have a playful pup companion in her new home. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
