Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Chula – the happiest tripod you’ll ever meet! Chula has been through a tough chapter in life, but you’d never know it from the way her tail wags nonstop. After an injury required her to have one front leg removed, this brave girl has adapted beautifully and is learning to conquer the world on three paws. Nothing slows her down—she’s curious, adventurous, and always ready for the next cuddle session. Chula adores affection and soaks up every bit of love she’s given (and might even climb into your lap if you let her!). She’s smart, treat-motivated, and already knows how to sit. With her sweet spirit, boundless energy, and big heart, Chula is ready to bring joy and love into a forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s full of resilience, kisses, and tail wags, Chula is your girl. Chula recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine. She wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as she gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, she’ll be ready to show us her silly side with other dogs. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out her playgroup video here: To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Mastador is a compelling hybrid, blending the robust nature of the Mastiff with the amiable disposition of the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breed initiatives, this cross aims to combine the best traits of its powerful parents. Physically, Mastadors are large to giant-sized dogs, boasting a muscular build and a dense, often short coat, with colors varying widely depending on their lineage. Their temperament is typically a delightful mix of the Mastiff's gentle loyalty and the Lab's playful affection, making them surprisingly gentle giants. They are generally good with families, including children, but their size necessitates supervision and early socialization. Due to their substantial size and need for moderate exercise, apartment living is not ideal; a home with a yard is preferable. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns common to large breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, and certain heart conditions, necessitating regular veterinary check-ups and a high-quality diet.
