This sweet girl is a whirlwind of fun, ready to bring endless joy and laughter to her forever home. Peanut is a true people-lover. She wants all your attention and isn't shy about it – expect her to be right there on your lap or chest the moment you sit down, soaking up every pet and cuddle. She's incredibly affectionate and thrives on human connection. Playtime is Peanut's favorite time! She loves to romp and can play a little rough, so she'd do best in a home with another dog her size who can match her energy. She’s learning to "be nice" during play, showing her willingness to learn and adapt. We recommend a feline-free home, as Peanut gets a little too excited around cats and loves to chase, though she won't harm them. Peanut is a smart cookie! She's already puppy pad trained and is currently working on outdoor potty training alongside her foster siblings. She enjoys walks once her leash is on, but she has a quirky dislike for tangles around her legs – a small detail that adds to her unique charm! She does have a mischievous streak and is a "door darter," so her new family will need to be vigilant about keeping her safe and possibly work on her impulse control at open doors. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
