Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Max was adopted from the shelter. He is one year old. He’s got all his shots, is neutered and chipped. He is very energetic and requires exercise, time and engagement. He is very smart and currently in training classes. He can sit, down, focus, touch and is relatively good loose leash walking. He barks when excited and sometimes when he’s not getting his way. He is kennel trained and he sleeps in there at night. He will lay down with you and give you his tummy to rub and lay his head in your lap. He is very curious and is a lot of puppy, eating, exploring and curious. I have 3 cats he aggressively chases them through the house which just is chaotic. His new home should have no cats, or small animals. He needs someone who can spend time with him to continue to train him, exercise him because he is still ALL PUPPY. **** Breed: German Shepherd **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2189464&flag=1

Breed overview

                            Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
