Description
Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (medium coat). Meet our lovely senior lady, Nala ! Have you ever heard of the Red Hat Society ? Its a group of mature (human) ladies that are out there, living their best lives, defined by `I will wear a red hat with my purple outfit` ( because I'm fabulous and can do whatever I want ! ). Miss Nala would SO like to start a canine version of that club ! She is about nine years old, a genteel lady who knows exactly who she is and isn't afraid to show it. She occasionally just plants her feet and looks at you like `going THAT way is NOT on my agenda`. Or `I don't know how you missed it, but I just did something totally treat-worthy there, and I'll wait while you both figure it out AND dole out appropriate treats`. She's spunky, and we are HERE for it :) Miss Nala is also an affectionate lady and great on leash. She is carrying some extra weight, but doesn't let that slow her down... she still enjoys long strolls. She can catch treats in mid-air... she says that should be included in her cardio record :) . Her blue/grey and brown coat means she is already walking around with a built-in fashion statement, and she knows it :) She's a lady who knows her value and wears it with pride... all she's missing is a family to share her Golden Years with. Nala recently met some social dogs at our shelter and she shares her shelter suite with a friend she met at the shelter. She prefers respectful dog friends that will give her space. The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately.
