This 35 pounds dapper dude is a 1-2 year old Terrier mix (possibly some beagle in there) who is looking for his forever home. Jack is a smart boy who's just starting to learn his basic commands and potty training – he's eager to please and any family will be lucky to have him! Plus as a bonus for those ear lovers Jack's ears have a mind of their own so it's always a surprise if they with be up, down or sideways lol! This super sweet happy smallish guy is can be a fairly active dog and a fantastic leash walker who enjoys taking his time to smell the roses and taking in the sights of what is around. He would love a family that goes on exploring adventures that he could be a part of as he craves being around his people. Jack loves attention, especially back and belly rubs, and gets along wonderfully with all people and other dogs. They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are all up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
