Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Sometimes, when a dog gets thousands of shares, everyone assumes he will be safe. Someone will step up. How could they not? He's a sweet, friendly boy. He won't be euthanized. Well, Jimmy Dean had thousands of views, shares, and still nobody came. We thank Carol Baker and Carol Esslinger Forth for advocating so strongly for this boy who had so many admirers, but still needed a hero. No dog should die due to their owners neglect. They didn't even care enough to give him a once monthly heartworm prevention, and he was going to lose his life because of it. Heartworm is easily treated, but it is not inexpensively treated. If anyone wants to help fund Jimmy Dean's treatment we can show him that we care.... even if his owners didn't.
