Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Raven is ready for her forever home! This beautiful six month old girl is going to be a big girl that’s for sure. She’s weighing in at 60 pounds currently. Raven loves her people, both big and small and loves playing with doggies. She is house trained, and crate trained and she lives for treats! Raven walks well on a leash, is learning her basic manners and commands, and after a big romp in the yard, her favorite thing is to cuddle on the sofa with her people! Raven is listed as a hound mix however we think she’s got some more things in there which makes her such a big, sweet, precious girl. If you’re looking for a dog to fill your life with fun and silliness and then cuddles on the sofa on these cool fall evenings, watching a movie, then Raven is the girl for you. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
