Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Inky is a beautiful pup who is looking for a home. Inky is with our friends in Louisiana but will be heading to NJ soon. Inky was found at a Pizza Hut in southern Louisiana. No one came to claim this cutie so we offered to take her and help her find a hew home. Thanks to our foster, we were able to help save this cutie! Inky is a sweet and active terrier mix. She is good with other dogs and older kids. She hasn't been around very young kids yet. She is also cat friendly. Inky has been fixed, microchipped and she is up to date on vaccines. She tested negative for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Apply to foster or adopt wagoninn.rescuegroups

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
