Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Shampers is a tender-hearted, shy girl who needs just a little time and patience to feel safe with new people. She's naturally curious, though, and with a slow, gentle approach, sheâll start checking you out in no time. Once she realizes youâre a friend, sheâll quietly start following along, often tagging behind her person on walks, as if she's trying to stay in the background while still enjoying your company. Loud noises can make Shampers anxious, but in our playroom, sheâs beginning to find her confidence. When it comes to other dogs, Shampers really comes alive. Her playful side emerges when she feels safe, and she thrives in the presence of calm, confident dogs who help her feel secure and bring out her playful, carefree side. She looks to them for reassurance, and their companionship shows her that people and the world around her aren't as intimidating as they might seem. She might be hesitant to ask for attention at first, but once you start petting her, she wonât want you to stop! Sheâs a young dog, full of potential, and just waiting for the right person to show her that the world isnât so scary after all.

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
