Dog Breed: Doberman Pinscher (medium coat). Meet Dashing Duke ! Duke is a beautiful male Doberman and a true gentleman. He’s a mature boy who’s handling the noisy, busy shelter environment as best he can - a little nervous at times, but he is always calm and composed laying on his cot, looking incredibly handsome as he waits for his forever home.Once he’s with people, Duke’s gentle and affectionate side shines. He’s an easy, well-mannered dog who’s comfortable with everyone he meets. He absolutely loves to play fetch (and even shows off some soccer skills). Duke is a gentle treat taker and has a gentle soul. He enjoys ear scratches - and his cute ears have a personality of their own ! He’d love a home where he can go on relaxed walks, play a little fetch, and lounge in the living room by your side. It’s no surprise he’s a shelter favorite - Duke is the perfect blend of calm, playful, and loving, just waiting for the right person to give him the quiet, caring home he deserves. To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. The Doberman Pinscher is a sleek and powerful breed originating from Germany in the late 19th century, specifically developed by Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann for protection. Known for their striking, athletic build, Dobermans typically possess a short, glossy coat that comes in black, red, blue, or fawn, often with rust-colored markings. Their temperament is a fascinating blend of loyalty, intelligence, and alertness, making them exceptional guardians and devoted companions. While highly trainable and eager to please, they require early socialization and consistent training to channel their energy and protectiveness appropriately.
