Hagger’s journey hasn’t been easy, but his heart remains full of hope. Found as a stray in rural Louisiana, this sweet young boy ended up in a small, overcrowded shelter where his time was running out. Thankfully, we knew he deserved the second chance he has been waiting for. Now, Hagger is packing his bags and getting ready for the next big chapter: a trip up to New York in search of his his forever family. Hagger is a gentle and shy boy at first, but give him a little time, and you'll see his true colors shine. He’s affectionate, loyal, playful and happiest when he’s close to his people. Once he feels safe, Hagger can't get enough of your attention and cuddles. He’s also a playful pup who loves romping around with other dogs. Hagger has recently discovered the joy of toys – which might just be his new favorite thing! Whether he’s chasing a ball or snuggling up next to you, Hagger is happiest when he’s surrounded by love. A young pup ready for the next chapter of his life with so much love to give. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
