Dog Breed: Schnauzer / Mixed. Available for Adoption: Meet Twix! Twix is a sweet and gentle soul in search of her forever home. This easy-going girl is not only intelligent but also independent — she knows how to entertain herself, making her a wonderful fit for busy families or individuals. While she may be a little shy at first, once she warms up, you'll find a loyal and affectionate companion who just wants to love and be loved. She is affectionate, smart and is currently learning basic commands like come, sit, off, and leave it. Crate trained and approximately 80–85% potty trained, leash trained (does not pull) great with kids, cats, and other dogs. If you're looking for a gentle and loving pup to complete your family, Twix could be the perfect match. She has had 2 vet visits, is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated - DHPP x 4 (fully vaccinated), Rabies, & Bordetella x 2, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and 2 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
