Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hi I'm Nutmeg - the perfect way to describe me is a little bit of spice & a whole lot of nice! I am a 3 month old mixed breed gal and weight 13 pounds. My foster humans aren’t sure of my exact breed (best guess is lab/hound mix), all I know is I am a whole lot of cute and should be medium sized when fully grown! I have your typical “puppy energy” for a little while, but as you can see by my pictures, my absolute favorite place to be is snuggling with my humans. As a puppy, I am still working on my potty training - my foster family say I am doing great! I am also working really hard on crate training and sleep quietly through the night with no accidents. As long as you stick to a routine, I am a smart girl that adjusts quickly. I am food motivated and eager to please and with a family to continue my training, I just know we'd be the perfect fit. Since I am so young, I am highly adaptable (gold star for me!) and would do well in a home with other pups, cats, and kids alike. I am looking for my furever family and a home to call my own where I can snuggle and play all the time. I am up to date on all of my age appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped and will be available for adoption on or after 10/19/25 at .pawsacrosspittsburgh/adopt. Paws Across Pittsburgh, KL#16182

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
