Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Maggie is a 1.5year old German Shepherd who came to the shelter when her owner was hospitalized and unable to care for her. She is very timid, and spent the first few weeks with us decompressing and gaining confidence. She has blossomed into a friendly and sweet girl, although still a bit shy! She does great with other dogs and loves to play, and seems to not mind cats. (She does like to chase play with them! We aren't sure about kids, but due to her very timid nature she would probably a little uneasy around them. A volunteer has spent some time with her and she does great at agility training! She loves to play fetch and quickly shows her true self when she is doing something she loves! She walks well on a leash, and knows the word “walk” and loves to go for car rides, happily jumping up and in whenever the opportunity presents itself! All dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested (if over 2 years old), vaccinated, dewormed, flea and tick treated, microchipped and more before adoption. Our adoption policies include: Application, Vet Reference, Landlord approval & Criminal Background Check. We do not do same day adoptions. We request that you call for an appointment after your application has been approved to come and visit the dog of your choice.
