Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Poodle (Miniature) (medium coat). Hi! I'm Griffin and I'm just learning my way in this world. I'm slow to trust humans, but I love dogs and I love my resident cat, even if the feeling isn't reciprocated. I love dogs of all kinds, but especially big dogs. That being said I will need some furry friend companions in my furever home to ensure I am comfortable. I am just beginning my potty-training journey, I have accidents sometimes, but I am getting better! I love having access to a doggy door! Being able to let myself in and out I don't have any accidents. I go in my kennel when my foster mom leaves, I cry for a little while but eventually settle. I love all three of the kids that I live with, I trust kids more than adults. I would do great in a home with little humans. I have tried walks a few times, but so far, they haven't been my favorite. I will walk a few yards at a time and then stop, but I'll keep practicing. I like to spend most of my time playing with the other dog's I live with, then snuggling up for a good nap. My favorite toy is any cat toy... especially if it makes any kind of noise. I do fantastic in the car; I go for car rides almost daily! I did have a couple puppy teeth taken out that grew incorrectly, I wasn't able to shut my mouth completely and it was causing me pain. I am working on ball therapy with my foster family to stretch my mouth. There is a chance I will need the same adult teeth taken out, but the vet will not know until I'm a little bit older. Thank you for reading all about me! Will you be my fur-ever family? Love Griffin! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $950.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
