Like most Shepherds, Zara is high-energy and eager to bond deeply with her people. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be right by your side, ready to take on life’s adventures together. Zara only has three legs, but she doesn’t let it slow her down one bit! She’s agile, playful, and loves to romp around outdoors, sniffing every new scent and chasing after her favorite toys. Tug-of-war is one of her favorite games, and her joy is infectious when she’s in play mode. She’s housetrained, crate trained, and knows a couple of basic commands like “sit” and “kennel.” While she can be vocal when something catches her attention, she’s simply doing her job. Ever the loyal Shepherd, she takes protecting her space seriously. Once she knows you’re a friend, she warms up quickly and shows her affectionate side. Zara gets along with some dogs and could do well with one calm, compatible canine companion, though she’d also be perfectly happy as the only dog soaking up all the love. She’s not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home is best. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) aarf-tn/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.
