Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Adoption Fee: $652.54 (includes MN taxes). NEW TO RESCUE: I'm super smart and eager to learn. Give be a job and let me earn my keep! I have a lot of energy which I like to expend in the yard playing chase, jumping, or wrestling with my brother. I like to cuddle, but don't care for being held. I'm ok with the cats, sometimes chasing them and sometimes seeking a snuggle from them. I'm shy at first meeting new people, but warm up quickly. I can be pretty vocal when I want something or am warning the neighbors sometime is walking on it street. I'm mostly housetrained, but not crate trained.

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
