Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed. 7 year old canine seeks single-pet household Charlie is a 7 year old lab mix who weighs 42 pounds. Charlie is an affectionate sweetheart who loves to be close to her humans! She is highly intelligent, and is very responsive to her name. She knows the commands for sit and stay, and has great recall. She is treat motivated, so teaching her more commands should be easy! Charlie loves food so much that she is always eager to help out in the kitchen, but her other interests are walks, car rides, chew toys, and playing with her people. Charlie is not a fan of other animals, so her ideal home would have no other cats or dogs. Charlie is also wary of children, so we are searching for an adult-only home for her. Ideally Charlie’s new home would also have a fenced back yard so she can enjoy the outdoors without taking herself on adventures. Charlie is spayed, microchipped, house trained, and crate trained. She is up to date on appropriate vaccines. If you’d like to learn more about Charlie, or if you think she may be a good match for your household, please fill out a Statement of Interest on our website.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
