Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Ozzy Pawsbourne is a sweet, quiet little guy who’s still learning what it means to be loved. He can be shy at first, but once he realizes he’s safe, his tail starts to wag and he’ll happily curl up right beside you for some cozy companionship. Ozzy is crate trained and working on his potty training. He’s not too interested in toys just yet — he’s more of a calm observer who enjoys peaceful company. He gets along well with other dogs and would do wonderfully with a calm yet confident furry sibling to help show him the ropes and continue building his trust. If you have a gentle heart and a little patience, Ozzy will reward you with loyalty and endless sweetness as he blossoms into the loving companion he’s meant to be. Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
