Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed. Meet Belinda Carlisle. She is a Cattle Dog mix and is a very happy dog with lots of love to give! She plays well in playgroups, is highly intelligent, listens well and is very trainable. She is a bit shy so will need someone who is patient with her and can provide a safe space where she can establish trust. But once she warms up, she is very sweet. She is respectful of all dogs and cats is an energetic girl who loves to go on car rides, long walks and enjoys playful activities, But she also loves hanging out at home with her humans. Belinda doesn't bark much unless she senses a threat so would make an excellent watch dog. If you are interested in Belinda, please fill out an application at .tahoewarf and text 775-338-6631.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
