Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Peanut is the tiniest member of his litter and has the biggest heart! He’s playful, fun, and absolutely adorable. Peanut loves to play with his toys and loves cuddles. While he’s a bit more on the shy side compared to his siblings, once he warms up, he’s all love and personality. Peanut is continuing to work on his potty training and manners, so he’ll need someone patient and consistent to help him keep learning as he grows. He’d be happiest with someone who will spoil him with attention (and maybe a few treats!) and make him feel safe and adored. Because he’s such a tiny guy, older children who understand how to handle small dogs are best. If you have a backyard, it must be very secure with no small gaps or spaces he could slip through. We're looking for a home where someone is around during the day, since Peanut is still too little to be left alone for long periods. Because of his small size, older children who can be gentle are best, and he’ll need someone who can keep a close eye on him as he explores his big new world. If you have a backyard, it must be very secure with no small gaps or spaces he could squeeze through. Peanut is tiny and curious, and safety is a top priority! Breed: Chihuahua Sex: Neutered Male Age: 5 months Size: 3.4 lbs Arrival Date: 6-30-25 Peanut is up to date on shots, microchipped and neutered. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
