Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Peanut is a sweetheart. He has grown into a confident, playful, and incredibly loving little guy. Peanut loves toys, playtime, and hanging out with other dogs. He’s also fine with cats. He loves playing until he tires himself out then he turns into a total snuggle bug. He adores being held, cuddled, and soaking up all the attention his foster mom gives him. Because of his small size, he will need a very secure backyard with no gaps to keep him safe and older children who understand how to handle small dogs are best. Since he is still a young puppy, Peanut would really benefit from someone who is home during the day to continue his routine. He’s also great in a crate for short periods of time and is making excellent progress with his potty training. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate puppy who will happily be your little shadow, Peanut might be the perfect match. Breed: Chihuahua Sex: Neutered Male Age: 5 months Size: 3.4 lbs Arrival Date: 6-30-25 Peanut is up to date on shots, microchipped and neutered. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
