Description
Dog Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Ragan is a 59lb, 1-1/2 year old Female Pittbull Terrier. She was found as a stray in Coral Springs and wound up at the Humane Unit. Did you ever see the commercials where Pittbulls are pictured as being the most LOVING dogs? Ragan should be in one of those commercials. She literally exemplifies all of the best characteristics of the breed. She is submissive, she is beautiful, her coat is sleek and smooth like butter, she is smart and eager to please. ❤️ She gets along with other dogs, she loves everyone she meets. She has been cat tested, but the cat beat her up and made her nose bleed (she’s fine) Ragan is potty trained and crate trained. We are seeking an adopter worthy of her Superiority! Ragan will be spayed, she is microchipped and up to date on all of her vaccinations and preventatives. If you are interested in adopting Ragan, please fill out our adoption application. (There is an adoption fee)

Overview:
The American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) is a robust and intelligent breed, originating in the United States from crossbreeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs for dog-fighting purposes. Physically, they are medium-sized, known for their muscular build, broad heads, and powerful jaws, typically weighing between 30-60 pounds. Their coats are short and come in a wide array of colors. Temperamentally, a well-socialized APBT is often described as loyal, affectionate, and people-oriented, displaying a playful and sometimes clownish demeanor. They can be excellent family companions, provided they receive consistent training and early socialization, though their high energy levels mean they thrive with active owners. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient exercise, a house with a secure yard is often preferred. Notable health considerations include a predisposition to hip and elbow dysplasia, allergies, and certain heart conditions.
