A Sweet Senior Who Just Wants a Quiet Home to Call Her Own Pookie is a 10-year-old Chihuahua–Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. She’s a tiny lady who enjoys the simple things in life, soft treats, rope toys, and curling up on the couch or on her favorite blanket for naps. She’s good with kids and cats, and can get along with dogs after a slow introduction. Pookie walks nicely on a leash and is fine in the car (though she may whine a little at first). She’s housebroken but may have an accident if left alone too long, so she’d do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. Pookie isn’t crate trained, she’s used to free-roaming the house, and she doesn’t really know any commands… but maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks. She’s also a little shy at first and needs time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, her affectionate side shines. She’s looking for a quiet, calm home with a fenced yard where she can feel safe and loved for the rest of her golden years.
