Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed (short coat). My name is Myra and I am the BIGGEST lovebug. I'd rather get lovins than eat my dinner, but obviously I still love my dinner times. I do good with children, however, we've come to find as I've gotten more comfortable in my foster home I am showing a lot more signs of animal reactivity. I would need to be adopted by someone with no other pets or with plenty of experience in handling animal-reactive dogs. I have gone after small critters, cats, smaller dogs, bigger dogs, and even horses. I am house-trained and I do well in my kennel as well! I am okay on a leash, but, if I see another animal I will lunge with all my strength! I am a strong girl! I was picked up as a stray here in Tulsa so we aren't too sure what I experienced before coming to TAS. Reach out to Emily at (918)857-8194 to schedule a meet & greet with me! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
