Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hello, my name is Peaches. I am an approx. 2 year old Terrier mix that weighs 30lbs. I was surrendered due to my previous family no longer being able to care for me. I am a very girl that is great with people of all ages. I am house and crate trained. I walk well on leash and enjoy spending time with my human companions. I am not suggested with cats or female dogs. If you do have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is suggested in order to make sure we get along. If you are interested in making me part of your family, please submit an adoption application located here: rockwalladoptions/adoptfoster/adoption-application/. RAC staff will be in touch on the next steps. My adoption fee is $125. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my basic yearly boosters, and heartworm negative. All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
