Description
Dog Breed: Klee Kai (short coat). // Find our applications at .midwestanimalrescue Adoption Fee $350 plus tax Meet Jennie: Jennie is ready to find her forever home! Rescued from a tough past as a backyard breeder in Missouri, Jennie has blossomed into a loving and smart companion. With her striking looks, she turns heads wherever she goes, often stopping traffic with her adorable charm! True to her breed, Jennie is curious, agile, independent and intelligent. Once you build a bond with Jennie, she’ll be your biggest fan! She can be wary of strangers and new situations, but you have her full attention if a treat is involved! While Jennie is a moderate energy pup, she needs daily exercise and would thrive in a home with active people. She loves going on walks and would have no problem keeping up with runners. Jennie is very smart and catches on quickly. She would excel at additional training or even agility. Jennie is great with dogs of all sizes. She would do best in a home without young children but older kids who are dog-savvy would be just fine. Jennie is quiet for her breed, but definitely will alert you if there are people walking around that are not part of her core family. Jennie will need to remain on a diet of hydrolyzed protein prescription food and a daily steroid to keep her IBD managed. Are you ready to welcome this sweet girl into your heart and home? Jennie is an absolute joy to be around, and she’s waiting for someone special to give her the love she truly deserves! or When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Breed overview

                            Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
