Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Flower: The Stealth Mode Chihuahua If Flower were a person, she’d be that mysterious roommate who doesn’t make a sound, floats from room to room like a ghost, and somehow never needs anything from you—except maybe your lap. She’s not here for the drama. In fact, she might not even be sure she’s here at all. This tiny queen is pretty quiet. She’s probably above such things. Why shout when you can silently judge from a pile of blankets? Speaking of which—don’t expect her to ask to leave her x-pen. She’s a low-maintenance roomie who mostly waits to be escorted like the royalty she is. Unless, of course, she feels spicy that day—then she might throw you a dainty little snap. It’s like her way of saying, “Not today, peasant.” No worries though, just open the gate and let her parade herself out like the independent lady she is. Outside, Flower’s potty skills are top tier. She poops with the elegance of a runway model mid-stride—never stop walking, just let nature take its course. She’ll use a pee pad if needed too, because she’s responsible. When it comes to other dogs, Flower’s strategy is: “Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’.” She’s quiet, still, and gives them the ol’ side-eye while pretending she’s not totally overwhelmed by their massive energy. Flower is that introverted friend who loves being around the party but has zero interest in actually mingling. She enjoys the company of dogs—as long as they respect her personal bubble. In the car, she’ll serenade you with her “please let me out” song until she can see her canine companions, then promptly pass out like nothing ever happened. Cats? Same deal. She’s Switzerland. Toys? Nah. Food? Meh. Chicken? Absolutely not. Who even likes chicken anyway? Flower eats like a picky runway model who sometimes snacks and sometimes forgets food exists. But don’t worry—she’ll keep an eye on that full bowl… from under a pile of blankets. Speaking of blankets … Oh, YES PLEASE. She’s a certified blanket mole. You’ll see a little nose peek out in the morning like a groundhog forecasting six more hours of nap time. She’s a big fan of cozy hidey beds where she can nap in peace and pretend the world doesn’t exist. Cuddly? Ehh… “ambiently affectionate” might be more accurate. She’s not going to nuzzle into your arms, but she will crawl onto your lap and vibe. If she trusts you, she’ll let you pet her—but only if the stars align and Mercury isn’t in retrograde. Sometimes she’ll shake like a tiny maraca, but she’s not mad—just processing existence. Small kids? Absolutely not. They’re loud, unpredictable, and frankly, terrifying. Flooring is serious business to Flower. Wood floors are lava. Toddler mattresses covered in blankets are her personal red carpet. She won’t touch hardwood unless absolutely necessary—and even then, she’s not thrilled about it. Carpet would change her life, but alas, her current kingdom is wood. She naps like a champion, chills like a Zen master, and has somehow managed to win over the entire house by doing…almost nothing. Her favorite person is the calm, quiet 16-year-old, Ian. We suspect they communicate telepathically. Flower may not have a lot of confidence right now, but she’s figuring it out. She doesn’t make a scene, doesn’t beg for attention, and doesn’t destroy anything. She’s just quietly trying to be brave in a world that’s been a bit too loud for her. She would thrive with someone who lets her come out of her shell on her own time—maybe with a confident little dog buddy to show her that it’s okay to be a little weird, a little barky, and a lot more dog. In short: Flower is not your average Chihuahua. She’s a soft, mysterious introvert with the soul of a poet and the pooping style of a parade float. And honestly? We kind of love her for it. Flower is originally from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
