Description
Dog Breed: Brittany (medium coat). Hey Everyone, I’m Penny an adorable and highly active 2 year old female looking for a place to call home Forever! Right now, I’m enjoying the good life in a wonderful foster home in Eastern Maine. I’m up to date on vaccine, spayed, heartworm negative, on prevention and micro-chipped too. I’m house and crate trained and will let you know when I have to go. I walk well on leash and love playing with other dogs too. I’ve never been around cats but I’m a typical young Brittany with a high prey drive so a cat free home is highly recommended. Seeing as I’m such an energetic and active girl, my new house should also have a secure 5-6 ft physically fenced in yard so me and my new “bro-fur or sis” have a place to run and play safely. I would really enjoy a home where my people do not leave me home all day long, even though I can spend time in my crate I’d rather be out playing with my people. I do enjoy the company of women the most; however I have learned that men can be fun too. I just need to be given time to warm up to them. Once I do, we will have lots of fun playing and having adventures together! I’ve not been with children much, but I’d probably do well with older, dog-savvy kids who are looking for a playmate to run around with. So, if you’re looking for a young Miss like me and have the love, patience, and time to give me a place to call home, please consider filling out an adoption application for me Penny/ME online at: nbran/adopt/adoption-application. Once your application is submitted the coordinator in the State where you reside will follow-up with you. Need to reach your State Coordinator, find their contact information here nbran/about/state-provincial-coordinators Penny’s adoption fee is 400.00 which will help NBRAN cover the vetting costs and other expenses associated with bringing Brits like Penny back to good health and readying them for adoption. Don't live in ME or close by, No Problem! NBRAN has a wonderful transport team willing to help bring Brits like Penny to their new family, up to 1400 miles with the adoptive family being responsible for the last 100 miles, at no additional fee. Overview:
The Brittany is a beloved and versatile gun dog, originating from the Brittany province of France in the 17th century. These medium-sized dogs are instantly recognizable by their athletic build, often appearing leggy and agile, with a dense, flat or wavy coat that comes in orange and white, or liver and white. Their intelligent and eager-to-please nature makes them incredibly trainable and responsive. Temperamentally, Brittanys are known for being friendly, energetic, and affectionate, making them excellent companions for active families. While their moderate size might suggest apartment living, their high energy levels and need for regular exercise mean they thrive best in homes with a yard or access to plenty of outdoor space. Generally a healthy breed, they can be predisposed to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and sometimes epilepsy, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. With proper training and socialization, a Brittany will undoubtedly enrich the lives of its devoted family.
