I am 13 pounds and I am good with smaller dogs and I am good with bigger dogs after I get a chance to know them. I am a smart girl and I taught myself to use the doggy door on the first day I was with my foster family. I sleep through the night in my crate and I am potty trained. I am a pretty calm dog and I am a timid and shy dog. Because of this, I will need to be in a home with patient owners who give me lots of time to feel comfortable. I will be scared of really young children. I went to the groomer to get my nails trimmed and the groomer said I was a very good girl. I enjoy my food, treats, and chew bones. I enjoy going for walks and I am learning to walk nicely on a leash. I am happy to go out for a car ride or a walk any time, especially with my foster sibling dogs. I am fully vaccinated and spayed and I am looking for my loving forever family. My adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview

                            Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
