Emily would do well in a home with another friendly dog or as your one-and-only companion. She’ll need some basic training to help her learn leash manners, house routines, and general household expectations, but with her eagerness to please and her affectionate nature, she’ll catch on quickly. What is my personality like? Emily is an adorable Maltese mix with a joyful spirit and a whole lot of love to give. She’s sweet, playful, and happiest when she’s running around outside or spending time with her people. Emily gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys their company, though she secretly hopes she won’t have to share too much of your affection — she really, really loves her people! When meeting new friends, Emily can be a bit shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her gentle, loving personality to shine through. After a few kind words, some baby talk, and a soft pet, she’s climbing into your lap and melting into your arms for attention and cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal, snuggly little friend who will bring warmth, laughter, and love into your home, Emily is ready to steal your heart — and maybe your lap, too. How do I act when I first meet new people? Emily can be a little timid at first, but a few gentle pets and she'll be right in your lap! Other tips and tidbits: We have no history on Emily pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she is estimated at 3 years old. We celebrate her birthday 10/05/2022. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.
