Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). ***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at .emmetcountyanimalshelter*** This group of pups is ready to go HOME!!!! After too long of a stay at the shelter due to a fungal skin infection, these kids are clear and ready to leap, bound and jump their way into the hearts of their forever families. Their mom is Athena who is a silly pup herself! She has had a good time raising these puppies up to be fun-loving; playful, and affectionate just like she is. They love to wrestle, run in and out of their room and best of all is when a human goes out into their grassy play yard and they get to race around the yard. Freya, Apollo, Zeus and Hades were born June 19 of 2025. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and dewormed. With an approved application, their adoption fee is $300.00

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
