Description

Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (long coat). .huskyrescueteam If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam Meet Nebraska: The Soulful Husky with a Heart of Gold This gaze? It belongs to Nebraska—a gentle, soulful Husky who’s been through more than his fair share but never stopped smiling. Once a stray impounded by the shelter, Nebraska is now safe in our care and ready to write his next chapter—with you. Shelter staff estimated him at 4 years old, but based on his teeth and energy, we suspect he’s younger. What we do know for sure: Nebraska carries himself like an old soul. He’s thoughtful, affectionate, and quietly curious. His Journey to Healing Nebraska arrived with skin irritation, a mysterious neck nodule, and a body score that broke our hearts. Turns out, he was battling both bacterial and yeast infections, plus Lyme disease. No wonder he was so uncomfortable. But this boy is a fighter. Having completed a trio of medications, Nebraska is healing beautifully. His coat is coming back in full glory, his pep is returning, and his hugs? Legendary. Volunteers adore him—and we mean adore . He’s a favorite for good reason. Personality Potty trained and crate trained ✅ Big hugger and snuggle bug ✅ Zoomies enthusiast ✅ Great with other dogs (including littles) ✅ Kid-friendly ✅ Not cat-tested yet Inquisitive, people-loving, and happiest when he’s near his humans Nebraska is still filling out and will likely be around 75 lbs when fully restored. He’s neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Located in Maryland, he’s now officially ready for a family of his own. Why Nebraska? Because they don’t come sweeter than this. Nebraska is everything wonderful wrapped in one soulful, silly, snuggly Husky. If you’re looking for a companion who’ll steal your heart and never let go, apply today. He’s ready to be the center of your world—and we promise, he’ll make it better. ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at .huskyrescueteam/apply If you have additional questions please email infohuskyrescueteam ~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Siberian Husky

A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:

The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
