Cinnamon and Tango came to DDR when their owner passed away on vacation and there was no other family to take them. While it would be great if they were adopted together, we believe they are young enough they could be separated as long as there is another dog in the family. Cinnamon is a small girl with a big personality. She loves to chase birds and squirrels in the fenced backyard. She will do her business everytime she goes outside, but she also knows what a potty pad is for. Her best trick is sitting up and begging with her front paws folded in front of her. When she is not playing with the other dogs, she loves to sit on your lap. She is a dachshund and she barks. Cinnamon and Tango both require a fenced yard. Cinnamon's adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18, Tango's adoption fee is $400 plus sales tax $18. If they are taken together their adoption fee will be $800 plus sales tax $36=$836 My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental and microchipping.

Overview:

The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets. Regarding health, their unique body shape predisposes them to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), so careful handling and weight management are crucial.
