Email: ddrtxinfogmail Primary Website: .DDRTX Meet Tippy Tippy is the sweetest, easiest little, 10 year old and only 9 pounds companion you could hope for. She is friendly with everyone — people, children, and other dogs — and is always gentle and welcoming. She’s appropriately curious about the world but never pushy or demanding. Tippy simply has a kind heart and a calm presence that makes her a joy to be around. This girl loves affection and happily enjoys being held and cuddled, but she’s just as content snoozing in a cozy dog bed nearby. She has excellent house manners: she is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and sleeps quietly through the night. She also does wonderfully when left alone for short periods while her foster family runs errands. Tippy rides quietly in the car, walks nicely on a leash, and likes to take her time sniffing the world around her. She isn’t overly playful—she’s more of a “relax and enjoy life” type—and is perfectly happy hanging out, napping in a sunny spot, or curling up next to you. She has a healthy appetite, isn’t picky, and shows no food aggression. She’s generally quiet, though she may politely let a squirrel know she sees them. Tippy is truly a sweet, easy-going girl who loves the simple joys: eating, sleeping, cuddling, and sunbathing. If you’re looking for a gentle companion with a calm and loving nature, Tippy is ready to bring warmth and peace into your home and heart. Overview:

The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets. Regarding health, their unique body shape predisposes them to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), so careful handling and weight management are crucial.
