Description

Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). JUNIPER HAS NOT COMPLETED HER VETTING AND WILL NOT BE SPAYED UNTIL EARLY DECEMBER 2025. APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY BEING ACCEPTED FROM WITHIN A 30 MINUTE RADIUS OF DES MOINES UNTIL AFTER SHE HAS BEEN SPAYED. Juniper is a gallon of loving sweetness in a pint-sized jar! She and her siblings were surrendered to Hope as an "Oops!" litter recently. Her father is a Mini Aussie Shepherd and her mom, a Rat Terrier mix. Juniper definitely takes after her mother in looks and temperament. She is a bit on the shy side, given that she is only 4-pounds it's hard to blame her for being a bit timid. Juni lets you know, with her body language that she is feeling: 1) Very sleepy; she will curl up on any part of your body available and doze off in a heartbeat. 2) Very happy as she prances around and paws the air when you go to pick her up. 3) Very content; as she daintily (and with great leisure!) finishes her meal as everyone else circles her crate waiting for her to finish and 4) very playful as she finds a toy to carry off to her crate for further examination. She is working diligently on potty training and learning her proper place in her foster home. She does get scared when a bigger dog approaches her, but she will settle in with time. She is in a home with her brother, Argos and four foster siblings of various ages and sizes. She is untested with cats in her foster home, although the owner advised the puppies were good around cats.
