Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hi there! My nameâs Buddy Martin, and Iâm a 2-year-old bundle of joy with a heart as big as my smile! I might have started life as a stray, but now Iâm dreaming of a forever-home where I can share all my love (and a few of my silly zoomies). Iâm a sweet, affectionate guy who adores hugs, kisses, and playtime. Give me a tennis ball, and Iâll show you my best moves! I spent some time in a foster home where I proved that Iâm both housebroken and crate-trained. Pretty impressive, right?!? I do like to keep an eye on my home and can be protective when new people visit. It helps me feel safe to relax in my crate with a tasty treat when guests come over. Thatâs why Iâd be happiest in an adults-only home without too many visitors, just me, my favorite humans, and lots of love. My dream home would have a fenced yard where I can run, play, and get all my energy out. Iâm still working on some basic training, but Iâm super eager to please and very treat motivated, so Iâm ready to learn everything you want to teach me! The shelter can be a little loud and stressful for me, so I canât wait to find a calm, quiet home where I can finally relax, cuddle up, and just be your Buddy. If youâre looking for a loyal, loving friend who will keep you smiling every day, come meet me, Buddy Martin, and letâs start our happily ever after! If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes: - initial canine distemper combination vaccination - first worming or stool check - rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age) - 24 Petwatch microchipping - flea treatment/preventative - spaying or neutering -heartworm testing Adoption fee: $135.00 Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. The cost of the license is $9.20. (Senior Citizen or Person with Disability-$7.20) Leash and collar included

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
