Description
Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). Francesco Rivaldi is a 4 year old 43 pound Husky. He was found on Rockford street and we were called because they were scared he would get hit by a car. We brought him to our vets office and were sure that he had an owner out there. Nothing, not one email or post about a missing Husky. Francesco is a very sweet boy, he knows how to sit and we are working on giving paw. He seems to have an Italian accent so the vet tech gave him an Italian name. If you would like to meet Francesco Rivaldi please fill out an application from our website.

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
