I am energetic, curious, and I love cuddling when I’m not busy exploring and 15/10 adorable, especially when I’m gazing lovingly into your eyes. I’m listed as 7 months old but could be a little younger. I am a male, heeler mix weighing about 26 lbs. and will probably be 60-70 lbs when I’m all grown up. I’m crate trained and mostly potty trained if you take me out regularly. Since I’m a puppy I still need to learn good manners but I learn really quickly and am so smart. I figured out the doggy door all by myself. I play well with my foster brother and love snuggling with him but I prefer to dine alone. I’m eagerly waiting my forever family. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
