Dog Breed: Shih Tzu / Mixed. Meet Stella NJ! Stella is the quintessential tiny lap dog! She’s about 1.5 years old and weighs in at a whopping 7 pounds. Stella comes when called, does the cutest little dances for her food and even tries to jump for treats. She was deeply loved yet very sheltered in her prior home so a lot is still new to her. She can be a little shy around new people but quickly bonds once she knows and trusts you. She is crate trained and sleeps in there all night. Her foster mom has been working with her on leash training, and Stella is a quick learner. She is currently in foster with a larger dog and a cat, respectful of their space. In fact, she follows the lead of the resident dog and is now house trained! In her prior home, she loved to play and romp with the other small dog. All she wants is a warm lap, some sweet kisses, and the care and patience to help her gain some much needed confidence. Being that Stella has never lived with small children and due to her small size, a home with older kids or no kids would be preferable. Stella would do best in a home where her family will help her realize the world is not such a scary place. Stella is spayed, up to date on vaccination, and microchipped. She is not hypoallergenic.
