Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Nugget — a.k.a. Miss Shorty or Little Sausage! At just 1 year old and 40 lbs, Nugget is the perfect blend of cute, cuddly, and a little bit silly. She might seem shy for about five seconds, but once she realizes you’re friendly, she soaks up attention like sunshine and will happily curl up right in your lap. Nugget walks nicely on leash and isn’t easily distracted — unless, of course, there’s the sound of a treat bag rustling somewhere nearby! She’s kennel trained, housebroken, and loves her crate when it’s time to unwind. While she enjoys her outdoor time, this smart girl prefers the comfort of the AC when it’s warm out. She’s great with dogs and kids, and even shows good manners around rabbits and chickens (as long as they’re safely behind a fence). Nugget is fully vetted for the year and heartworm positive, but treatment is already covered and will be provided for her adopter. This little sausage is sweet, loyal, and full of love — ready to bring joy and laughter to her forever home. 1 year old, 40 lbs Kennel trained & housebroken Good with dogs & kids

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
