Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Located at our Evansville Rescue Center, Meet Annie! This 3-year-old, 44-pound girl is full of life and always ready for action. She’s playful, energetic, and thrives on outdoor adventures—whether it’s hiking, running, or just exploring the yard, Annie is all in. She gets along well with other dogs, enjoys being around kids, and passed her initial cat test. Annie would do best in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and stimulation. She’s also quite the athlete and can clear a 4-foot fence, so a secure yard or leash walks are a must. With her fun-loving personality and love for movement, Annie is ready to be your partner in adventure. But don't let her playful spirit fool you; she also loves to relax and cuddle on the couch after a long day of fun. With a love for toys and a delightful disposition, Annie is sure to steal your heart. If you're ready to welcome this lovable girl into your home, apply now at ITVrescue! Adoption fee sponsored by A+Derr Heating and Cooling! All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
