Dog Breed: Cairn Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550. Sweet Pea is as gentle and loving as her name suggests — she just needs a little time to feel safe. This pretty girl has striking blue eyes and a heart that wants nothing more than to snuggle once she trusts you. She’ll climb right into your lap the moment you sit down and happily stay there as long as you’ll let her. Sweet Pea can be cautious with new people or noises, and she startles easily at first. Standing up to pick her up can make her nervous, but she’ll come right over when you sit down and call her. She learns by watching other dogs and gains confidence from them, though she’s done fine as an only dog, too. She’s leash trained, crate trained, and rides nicely in the car. She does bark for a few minutes when left alone or first goes into her crate but settles quickly. Sweet Pea would do best in a calm home (no little kids, as loud noises make her anxious) with a family willing to move at her pace. Once she trusts you, she’ll be your shadow — full of affection, loyalty, and quiet love. SweetPea is from Texas.
