Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 200.00. Sweet and lovable describes this intelligent and good natured 23.4-pound girl. After a quiet night in her crate, she will wake up when you do, have breakfast, then she is ready to play, followed by her morning nap in a sunny spot in the yard. She is a good eater and housebroken (she has not had one accident in her foster home). Princess Buttercup is always looking forward to her walks and has learned to stop pulling and will sit when asked (she's very treat oriented). She is not a high maintenance dog and her most favorite activity is to cuddle up on a soft bed or next to her bestie. She will be a delightful addition to anyone looking for an affectionate gentle best friend. Princess Buttercup was transferred to Valley Humane on 9/22 from Stockton Animal Services. She had been found stray. Princess Buttercup is a young adult dog (estimated to be aged between 1 and 4 years old). Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Complete our Adoption Inquiry Form (copy and paste the following URL into your browser address bar) or call us 925-426-8656. We are looking forward to hearing from you! valleyhumane/adopt/adoption/ She still jumps up so wouldn't recommend small children or toddler.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
