Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Jackson Needs a Forever Home Please help me find a loving home for my sweet boy, Jackson. Jackson came to me as a tiny six-week-old puppy from a stray mama, the most unique little one in his litter. From the start, he’s been full of energy, curiosity, and personality — not so much a lap dog, but a fun-loving, affectionate companion. Now 8 months old and about 50 pounds, Jackson is fully vaccinated, healthy, and growing into a strong, happy young dog. He’s a power chewer who loves big bones and tough toys, and his favorite treats are carrots and celery. He enjoys fetch, tug of war, and giving sweet kisses to my older beagle — he’s very gentle and loving with other dogs. Jackson is still a playful puppy who needs daily walks, room to run, and plenty of attention. I live in a small apartment and work full-time as a nurse, and I’m finding it hard to give him the exercise and training he deserves. He’s just too strong for me to handle safely on walks, and it breaks my heart to admit I can’t keep up with him. Jackson will thrive in a home with a yard, or with someone who has the time and energy to give him the active lifestyle he needs. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to play, train, and explore outdoors. He’s a sweet, loyal, and joyful boy who deserves the very best forever home. If you think you could be that person, please reach out — I’d love to tell you more about him. **** Breed: Unknown **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2190009&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
