Description

Dog Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog. adoption fee: $350.00 Maisy is a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog with a heart as big as her 90-pound frame. She’s a gentle soul with a sweet disposition and a calm spirit, making her a wonderful companion for a loving and patient family. Maisy is currently working on her potty manners—she’s making progress, but will thrive with consistent guidance in her new home. She’s crate-trained and enjoys resting peacefully in her cozy space. She walks well on a leash and is learning more every day. Many of the things she’s experiencing are brand new, so a calm and reassuring presence will help her continue to blossom. Please be mindful of Maisy's size when considering her for your home. Maisy gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a furry friend to keep her company. Maisy is looking for a home filled with patience, love, and gentle leadership. If you’re ready to open your heart to a loyal companion who’s eager to learn and love, Maisy could be the perfect addition to your family. This sweet girl will come to you fully vaccinated -- she also had a dental check this week! New foster dogs need time to feel safe. They may be skittish or fearful, so always stay with them outside—even in fenced yards. Ensure collars and leashes fit securely to prevent escapes. Your gentle presence and protection help them feel loved and secure. The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary. The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue. He will go home with a collar, leash, and vaccination record. If you would like to adopt this very special K-9 kid, please go DIRECTLY to our website to complete our convenient Online Adoption Form. Bernese Mountain Dog

A.K.A.: Berner, Berner Sennenhund, Bernese Sennenhund, Alpine Berner, Swiss Berner, Mountain Berner, Berner Pup, Berner Bear, BMD, Swiss Mountain Dog, Berner Companion, Berner Fluff, Bernese Guardian, Berner Friend, Sennen Dog
Overview:

The Bernese Mountain Dog is a striking and gentle breed originating from the Swiss Alps, where they were traditionally used as farm dogs for herding, guarding, and pulling carts. Physically, they are large, sturdy dogs with a distinctive tricolor coat of black, rust, and white, known for their expressive dark eyes and powerful build. Temperamentally, Berners are renowned for their calm, affectionate, and loyal nature, making them excellent companions. They are generally good with children and other pets, fitting well into active family life, though their size makes them less ideal for small apartment living without ample outdoor access. While their sweet disposition is a major draw, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a relatively shorter lifespan and predispositions to conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and certain cancers. Despite this, their unwavering devotion and majestic presence bring immense joy to their families.
