Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet little Daisy! She's about 11.5 years old and weighs about 18 pounds. She is still very spry and friendly and active. Daisy has had zero accidents in her foster home and also crates easily. She walks beautifully on leash and happily greets people and other dogs. She's also a total love bug and enjoys snuggling. Sticks and rolling in the grass are also fun! Daisy even enjoys car rides and will hop right in when you open the door. Daisy is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and started on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to adopt at mpravl All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at petsmpravl for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
