Description
Dog Breed: Husky. Hi, I'm Bohdi. I love going for walks, short hikes, and playing with apples (I love chasing them like balls!). I'm not your typical super-active-always-on-the-go husky, as I actually like to lounge around most of the day. My previous home said my best fit is a quiet home with a yard, a nice routine, and where I am the only pet in the home. I do not do well being around other animals and sharing my space, food, or toys. I do great with people and am a super friendly, affectiionate, sweet boy! I've been around kids and have done great, I mostly just ignore them. Traveling is something I really enjoy! I am such a good, sweet boy. Come meet me!

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
