Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Duke is 5.5 lb., 6-year-old tiny boy. This sweet boy was in a local high kill shelter. He has done well with the other tiny dogs in the rescue and is very sweet and loving. He would be a great addition to a family environment. Because of his small size no large breed dogs or small children please. As usual we do highly recommend positive reinforcement training to ensure a well-behaved puppy/dog. The adoption fee is $350 which includes: spay/neuter, microchipping with registration, up to date on vaccines, rabies vaccine (for dogs and pups over 4 months at time of alter), deworming, and topical flea treatment application (as needed). Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
